There is plenty of work in the congregation for each one of us to do if we will do it. Solomon sagely advises people to work while we can: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom” (Ecclesiastes 9:10). Life is short and we only live here once. Whatever we can accomplish for the Lord must be done now. We cannot come back and take care of lost opportunities. STAND FIRM

Stand-Firm

To know and experience the peace of God is something that every person should seek as a priority in life. “The peace of God” can only come from “the God of peace.” This is stated very clearly in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. The “peace of God” will act as a guard of our heart and mind: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4: 7). And then when we “put in practice” what God teaches us by the apostles and prophets, the “God of peace” will be with us to sustain that peace: “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me — put it into practice.
