Devil and Satan are the names most often given to the arch enemy of mankind. He is identified by many other terms, but they could all be summed up by THE WRONG WAY!

Who Belongs To Satan?

The apostle John gives a test to see who our spiritual leader is. He declares that the one who keeps on living a habitual life of sin belongs to the devil: “He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning” (1 John 3:8).


If such a one belongs to the devil, then the devil is that person’s spiritual father. Jesus declared that some people in his day had the devil for their father:

“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).

The devil was the first sinner and he was and is a liar from the beginning. Do not make the devil your daddy.

Jesus Came to Destroy the Devil’s Works

Our work as children of God is both positive and negative. Jesus “appeared to take away our sins” (1 John 3:5). But John declares in this same chapter that “the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” (1 John 3:8). Let us destroy his work and promote God’s work!

GOD’S GRANT OF REPENTANCE

We hear a lot about grants today. When young people are preparing to go to college they will check into scholarships that are available based on their track record, their grades and oftentimes they’ll receive these grants. Plus the federal government and the state many times will give dollar grants in different areas of education. We hear a lot about federal grants. The federal government has a grant for almost everything today. Many times our highways are blacktopped or repaved with cement as a result of the federal government giving the state a grant for the different highway systems. And in almost all of the Bills that are passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate, there are all kinds of grants that are stuck into the fine print that pays off, you might say, the big city mayors. All of these grants are not just outright gifts with no strings attached. In fact, almost every one of them is conditional. There are conditions attached to each grant. BEWARE OF THE DEVIL

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Peter 5:8-9).

THE BATTLE FOR THE MIND

Mind Battle

We are in a war that is being fought around the world and here at home. It is a battle against evil, terror and fear. It is basically a battle for the mind of man. Paul describes this battle in his second letter to the Corinthians:

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NIV).

These words indicate that our warfare is not with conventional worldly weapons, but with the powerful arguments of truth that can demolish all false pretensions that array against the knowledge of God revealed in the Bible. Continue reading “THE BATTLE FOR THE MIND” →

SATAN’S MONOLOGUE

Our arch-enemy Satan has been cast out of heaven down to the earth. “The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him” (Revelation 12:9). In the book of Job, Satan answered the Lord about his whereabouts, “From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it” (Job 1:7). He is still doing that and we must be on our guard.

Satan’s Soliloquy
